Sri Lanka, March 11 -- The Colombo Crimes Division informed Fort Magistrate Isuru Nettikumara today (11) that an indictment will be filed against Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, the General Secretary of Bodu Bala Sena.

The charges involve making remarks insulting the Quran and Islam during a press conference held at the Nippon Hotel in Kompagngna Veediya, Colombo.

Police informed the court that this step follows instructions provided by the Attorney General.

Fort Magistrate Isuru Nettikumara had previously ordered the Officer-in-Charge of the Colombo Crimes Division to appear in court today to explain the 11-year delay in receiving legal advice regarding the case.
