Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- Indian media reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have spoken over the phone.

During the call, Mr. Modi reiterated India's position on the need for a swift and peaceful resolution to the war with Russia. He also told President Zelenskyy that India is committed to making every possible contribution to ensuring peace.Meanwhile, President Zelenskyy commented on the conversation on his X account.

He said that they discussed all important issues in detail, including bilateral cooperation and the overall diplomatic situation.
