Sri Lanka, July 14 -- The famous Independence Square walking path, built 15 years ago under the initiative of former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa for the health and wellbeing of the people in Colombo city, is currently in an extremely dilapidated condition.

Thousands of civilians, including elderly individuals who use the location daily, face a highly dangerous situation due to this.

Member of Parliament Harsha de Silva pointed this out in a special disclosure on his official X social media account.

People using the path frequently fall and sustain injuries because the pebbles on the path surface, creating a rough ground, the MP stated.
