Sri Lanka, Oct. 17 -- A holiday has been granted for all Tamil schools in the Central Province on October 21, in light of the upcoming Deepavali festival.
This decision was made by the Governor of the Central Province, Professor Sarath Abeykoon.
The Central Province Governor has instructed all principals that schools must be conducted on Saturday, October 25th, in lieu of the special holiday.
The holiday was granted following a request made by M. Ganesharaj, Deputy Director of Education in charge of the Nuwara Eliya Education Zone administration, to the Deputy Minister of Plantation Community Infrastructure, Sundaralingam Pradeep.
