Sri Lanka, July 15 -- Hiru News won the award for the best news broadcast of the year 2025 at the 31st Sumathi Awards ceremony.

The Sumathi Awards is currently being held at a renowned private hotel premises in Jayawardenepura.

Additionally, the 'Hiru Star' programme won the award for the most popular television programme of the year.
