Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- The Hiru Sir John Tarbat Senior Athletics Championship, organised by the Schools Athletics Association under the full sponsorship of Hiru Media Network and supervision of the Ministry of Education, is scheduled to begin today (28) at the Diyagama Stadium.

Accordingly, the championship will be held from today until October 1.

Over 4,000 athletes are participating in 104 events in this year's championship.

All arrangements are in place to hold the opening ceremony of the tournament this morning under the patronage of Education Ministry Director of Health and Physical Education Duminda Kushan.
