Sri Lanka, Sept. 22 -- Hiru Media Network secured 19 awards at the Calin Popular Awards 2026, including several major categories across television, radio and entertainment.

The awards ceremony was held yesterday at a hotel in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.

Hiru TV was named the Most Popular Television Channel of the Year, receiving the highest number of public votes.

Hiru TV also secured the Most Popular Icon of the Year award.

Meanwhile, Hiru News was named the Most Popular News Channel of the Year, while Hiru News presenter Anuruddha Rathnayake won the Most Popular News Presenter award.

Sri Lanka's first live reality show, Hiru Star, was recognised as the Most Popular Television Programme of the Year.
