Sri Lanka, April 26 -- Two advanced medical machines valued at 425 million rupees were recently handed over to the Kandy National Hospital as part of a planned program to enhance health service resources. The Ministry of Health stated that these machines, provided through the intervention of the Ministry of Health and Media, are scheduled for patient care starting this week.
An 'Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy' (ESWL) machine worth 208 million rupees was provided to the Urology Unit of the hospital. This technology uses ultrasonic waves to break urinary system stones into small fragments for natural passage without surgery.
