Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- The High Court affirmed the 9-month prison sentence imposed on Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court regarding a statement made during a press conference allegedly causing disharmony between Muslim and Sinhala people, Colombo Additional Magistrate Lahiru Silva said today (07).

The Magistrate informed this while reading out the High Court judgment.

The High Court judgment noted that there is no need for the High Court to intervene in the order delivered by the Magistrate's Court.
