Sri Lanka, Feb. 5 -- Showers are expected to continue across the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva, and Central provinces, along with the Hambantota district. Heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely in specific areas, including the Uva province and the Batticaloa, Ampara, Hambantota, and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
In other parts of the island, showers or thundershowers are predicted to develop after 2.00 p.m. Some locations may experience fairly heavy rainfall surpassing 50 mm during this period.
Wind speeds are expected to pick up, reaching between 30-40 kmph at times across the Northern and North-western provinces, as well as in the Matale, Trincomalee, and Anuradhapura districts.
