Sri Lanka, Sept. 13 -- The Department of Meteorology says heavy rainfalls of around 100 millimetres are likely in some places across the North-Central, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, and North Western provinces today (13).

The department added that light showers will occur during the morning hours in the Western Province and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Meanwhile, the public has been advised to take necessary precautions to minimise safety risks and damage caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
