Sri Lanka, Sept. 23 -- The Department of Meteorology has announced that a deep depression currently located over the west-central and adjacent north-northwestern Bay of France is moving west-northwestwards and is expected to cross the northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha coasts of India tonight.

While the system will not have a direct impact on Sri Lanka, drawn-in wind currents are expected to sustain the prevailing rainy weather conditions across the southwestern sector of the island.
