Sri Lanka, Sept. 6 -- The 79th Session of the World Health Organisation Regional Committee for South-East Asia will commence tomorrow (07) in Dili, Timor-Leste.

A Sri Lankan delegation led by the current Chairman of the committee, Minister of Health and Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, is scheduled to depart the island today (06) to attend the summit.

The session, featuring the participation of World Health Organisation Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, will run from tomorrow until 10 September. Health ministers, senior health officials from member countries across the South-East Asia region, and high-ranking World Health Organisation officials are expected to attend.
