Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- The Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, has stated that government hospitals currently have an insulin stock sufficient for three weeks.

He made the comments while responding to media reports of a shortage, during an event in Colombo yesterday to celebrate World Pharmacists' Day.

In a separate development, Maligakanda Magistrate Janitha Roshini Perera has ordered the immediate arrest of the directors of a leading private hospital in Narahenpita.

The order was issued yesterday after the directors failed to appear in court to answer a summons for a case involving the sale of medicine to an in-patient at an inflated price.
