Sri Lanka, Oct. 3 -- Liquor outlets across Hatton and all estate sector towns were observed to be closed today (3) in observance of World Temperance Day.

A senior police official stated that officers from the Excise Department and the Nuwara Eliya and Hatton Police Divisions are on alert.

They are actively monitoring the areas to apprehend any individuals found selling liquor without a licence while the licensed outlets remain closed.
