Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- The All Island Grama Niladhari Officers Association has threatened a nationwide strike if the fuel allowance, which was cut in the current government's first budget, is not reinstated in this year's budget.

The Secretary of the All Island Grama Niladhari Officers Association, Jagath Chandra Lal, said that the allowance of 20 litres of fuel, which was approved by the previous Ranil Wickremesinghe government two years ago, was immediately cut in the current administration's maiden budget.
