Sri Lanka, Sept. 25 -- The GovPay digital platform has facilitated payments exceeding Rs. 285 million since its launch, according to Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weerarathne.
Speaking to the media, the minister said 137 institutions, including government agencies, have been connected to the platform.
All government institutions in the Southern and Northern Provinces have been linked to GovPay, with plans to expand to the Central Province as well.
The platform has also been introduced for the payment of traffic fines in the Western Province and on expressways, with plans to extend this system to three more provinces in the near future.
