Sri Lanka, Oct. 2 -- Central Province Governor Professor Harsha Suranga Fernando recently undertook an observation tour to inspect the progress of the restoration work on the historic Nuwara Eliya Post Office building.

During the visit, the Governor focused on the importance of carrying out the restoration work without causing any damage to the historical and archaeological heritage of the building.

Post Office Officer-in-Charge N. M. S. Weerasinghe stated that the roof restoration work is being carried out under the guidance of the Department of Archaeology, while the overall construction work has been entrusted to the construction division of the Sri Lanka Navy.
