Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- Leader of the House Minister Bimal Rathnayake admitted in Parliament yesterday that a minor, fractional division occurred within the government over the proposed 22nd Amendment to the Constitution, while maintaining that the opposition would not be able to exploit the issue for political gain.

Speaking in Parliament, Minister Rathnayake stated that opposition remarks regarding internal rifts were merely a desperate attempt to score political points, asserting that the public remains unbothered by the matter.
