Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- The government's new large-scale development projects are set to commence in September, with the first phase starting in Jaffna under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Minister Bimal Ratnayake announced.

The Minister stated that development activities for a new Coconut Triangle in the Northern Province, centred in the Mullaitivu area of the Vanni region, are scheduled to begin on September 2.

In addition, an international sports complex will be opened in the Mandaitivu area of Jaffna.
