Sri Lanka, Aug. 20 -- The government has decided to construct 100 new communication towers to cover areas with weak telecommunication connections across Sri Lanka.

Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne stated that the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) will bear 75% of the expense for each tower. The initiative is aimed at improving connectivity in underserved regions of the country.
