Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- The government has prioritized attracting quality investments and ensuring economic progress aligns with the needs of the public, according to Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.

She made these remarks during a discussion with the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) Mission Chief for Sri Lanka, Evan Papageorgiou.

The meeting, which included the Prime Minister and the IMF official, took place at Temple Trees.

The IMF Mission Chief commended the government's progress on reforms and the steps taken to curb corruption.

He also highlighted the importance of tax policy reforms and the measures taken regarding tax exemptions, according to the Prime Minister's Media Division.
