Sri Lanka, June 24 -- Reversing the economic situation where indirect taxes stand at 80% and direct taxes at 20% is the objective of the government, Deputy Minister of Industries and Enterprise Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe states.

Responding to a question raised in Parliament yesterday (23), the Deputy Minister further noted:

"Sajith Premadasa spoke about the implementation of the law. We know how the law became wild since his father's time.

We know how the law in our country was implemented only for the common man and not implemented for the elite class. There is no use shouting falsely. We will not take a step back from the step we took.
