Gotabaya's writ application deferred until July 23
Sri Lanka, July 9 -- Further consideration of the writ application filed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, was deferred until July 23 by the Court of Appeal today (09).
The writ application was requesting an order to prevent Gotabaya Rajapaksa's arrest in connection with the investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
The application was taken before the court for the fourth time.
The Court of Appeal bench comprises Court of Appeal President Judge Rohantha Abeysuriya and Sarath Dissanayake.
Deputy Solicitor General Suharshi Herath made further submissions on behalf of the respondents when the writ application was called today (09).
Thereafter, the consideration of the further submissions were deferred until July 23...
