Sri Lanka, Oct. 19 -- Gold prices in the local market have dropped by Rs. 20,000 compared to yesterday.
According to Raman Balasubramanium, Secretary of the All-Ceylon Jewellery Association, a 24-karat gold sovereign was sold for Rs. 390,000 today.
This figure was Rs. 410,000 yesterday.
Similarly, the price of a 22-karat gold sovereign has fallen to Rs. 360,800, compared to yesterday's price of Rs. 379,200.
