Sri Lanka, April 8 -- The industrial action comes as a protest against the methodology used in announcing post-internship medical appointments.

Earlier today (08), the Ministry of Health and Media released the new duty stations for 436 junior medical officers who applied for these positions.

The association expressed dissatisfaction with how these placements were finalised, leading to the decision to withdraw from services across the country.
