Sri Lanka, Feb. 25 -- The current government arrested former intelligence Chief Suresh Sallay to satisfy pro-LTTE separatist forces, according to Pivithuru Hela Urumaya leader and former Minister Udaya Gammanpila.

Gammanpila made these remarks during a media briefing in Colombo this morning, where he highlighted the crucial role Sallay played as a war hero in defeating LTTE terrorism.

He asserted that the arrest relies on a 2023 Channel 4 program, which he claims fabricated a story to take revenge on Sallay.

According to Gammanpila, the current administration rose to power by utilising that narrative and now faces pressure to name a "mastermind" for the Easter attacks.
