Sri Lanka, July 7 -- Fuel restrictions previously imposed on ministers, Members of Parliament, and public officials to curb expenditure during the energy crisis now stand removed.

The Ministry of Finance Secretary issued a circular to all ministry secretaries, provincial chief secretaries, commission heads, government departments, district secretariats, state corporations, and statutory boards confirming the decision.

These limitations followed the Middle East conflict, with a circular issued on April 2 directing that fuel allowances for officials be calculated based on fuel prices from March 1 as a cost-management measure.
