Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- The Frontline Socialist Party (FLSP) has voiced its support for the arrest of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, with politburo member Duminda Nagamuwa stating, "If you wound a snake and don't kill it, it will strike back."

Nagamuwa commended the government for proceeding with the action against Wickremesinghe despite pressure from some sections of the diplomatic community.

He said his party would support further action against the former president, whom he described as "a dangerous person" with a past "tainted with allegations such as operating the Batalanda torture house."
