Sri Lanka, Oct. 22 -- Four separate police teams have been tasked with investigating the killing of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman, Lasantha Wickramasekara, who was fatally shot earlier today (22).

The commencement of the investigation by these teams was confirmed by Police Media Spokesman, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Attorney-at-Law F. U. Wootler, during the weekly Cabinet media briefing.

Wootler stated that the Senior Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Southern Province had issued instructions for the four teams to begin their work immediately.
