Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- Four separate hand grenade attacks have been reported in various parts of the island over the past 45 days, resulting in two deaths and injuries to another individual.

In the most recent incident during the early hours of today (11), two brothers aged 11 and 17 were killed in a grenade attack targeting a house on Sirisangabo Mawatha in Dehiwala. Their father sustained injuries in the blast and is currently undergoing treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.

Similar grenade attacks were previously reported in the Kalubowila and Ratmalana areas.

Authorities suspect the attacks stem from conflicts between organized crime gangs. Multiple special police teams have been deployed to conduct further investigations ...
