Sri Lanka, Sept. 19 -- Opposition Leader, Sajith Premadasa, has stated that while the majority of public servants voted for the current National People's Power government based on its promises to strengthen and protect the public sector, the government has now forgotten them.

He highlighted that the jobs of 23,000 Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) employees are now at risk, with authorities allegedly telling them to "voluntarily retire" as the government will not take responsibility for their employment.

Premadasa made these remarks at a public meeting in the Mihintale electorate as part of his mobile service program.
