Sri Lanka, Oct. 2 -- The Central Criminal Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has arrested a former candidate for the Kalutara Regional Council for allegedly using forged documents to possess a used luxury SUV.

The suspect is a 38-year-old man residing in the Ariyagama area of Morontuduwa.

Police investigations conducted so far have revealed that the luxury SUV was operating under a licence plate number belonging to a different motor car.

The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Panadura Magistrate's Court.

The Computer Crimes Investigation Division of the CCIB is conducting further inquiries.
