Sri Lanka, Oct. 17 -- The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) today (17) informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court that it intends to launch an investigation against Neville Wanniarachchi, the former security officer of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), regarding assets and properties suspected to have been illegally acquired, amounting to Rs. 28 million.

CIABOC informed the court that the investigations under the PMLA are being prepared for assets identified as being beyond the scope of the current investigation under the Bribery and Corruption Act.
