Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has returned to his family residence in Tangalle.

The move was announced yesterday (11) by his son, Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa, in a post on X.

Namal Rajapaksa's post read, "Today, my father left his official residence in Colombo and returned to Tangalle, where it all began."

He also added that he wished to remind people that "true strength comes not from positions, privileges, or money but from the love of the people."
