Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- The former Chairman of the National Transport Commission, Renuka Perera, was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption in connection with the illegal issuance of 56 passenger service permits for operation on the Southern Expressway.

Arrested as a suspect in connection with an investigation, he is scheduled to be produced before court for further legal action.
