Sri Lanka, Oct. 10 -- The Colombo High Court has set December 10 as the date to begin the trial in the case filed by the Bribery Commission against former Minister Piyankara Jayaratne on charges of corruption.
The case was called today (10) before Colombo High Court Judge Mohommed Mihal.
During proceedings, both the prosecution and defence attorneys informed the court that they needed to examine the original copies of the documents related to the case.
The Judge then granted permission for the parties to inspect the relevant documents.
Following the conclusion of the pre-trial conference, the Judge set the trial date for December 10.
