Sri Lanka, July 25 -- P. Dayaratne, who served as the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Welfare from 2001 to 2004, has passed away at the age of 89.
Born on October 1, 1936, Dayaratne was a politician who represented the United National Party (UNP).
He was first elected to Parliament from the Ampara constituency in the 1977 general election and was re-elected in 1994, 2000, 2001, 2004, and 2010.
