Sri Lanka, Aug. 5 -- Former minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam was taken into custody today when he arrived at the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) to provide a statement.

The appearance was requested regarding an investigation into deploying two Presidential Secretariat employees to work in his personal office while he served as an advisor to former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
