Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- Remanded former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa is scheduled to be taken to the National Eye Hospital today (09) without being referred to a private hospital, the Prison Media Spokesperson stated.

She was referred to the prison specialist doctor yesterday (08) due to an eye condition, and action was taken to produce her before a specialist doctor at the National Eye Hospital based on the medical recommendation provided.

Arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption in connection with an alleged financial irregularity in the 'Siriliya Saviya' account, Shiranthi Rajapaksa was remanded until the 13th by the Colombo Additional Magistrate on the 07th after being produced before court.
