Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- Sepalika Saman Kumari, the former Acting Director General of the Office of Reparations, has been released on bail by order of the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Bodaragama issued the order after considering the submissions made by the officials of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) and the suspect's attorneys.
The suspect was released on two sureties of Rs. 1,000,000/- each.
The Magistrate noted that the bail order was granted after taking into account several specific factors, including the suspect's long service in the state sector and the fact that she did not obtain a personal financial gain through the incident.
