Sri Lanka, Sept. 29 -- According to a notification issued to the Colombo Stock Exchange by National Development Bank PLC, an audit inspection conducted by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP confirmed the fraud-related amount at 13,639,664,684 rupees.

This figure marked an increase of Rs. 60 million compared to the Rs. 13,579,664,684 declared in the June interim report. The bank stated that the additional 60 million rupee fraud amount will be accounted for in compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Informing stakeholders that this incident served as a well-learned lesson, National Development Bank PLC stated its commitment to further strengthening compliance and governance frameworks.
