Sri Lanka, May 26 -- Former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena has now arrived at court.

The verdict in four cases filed over corruption allegations against him by the Commission to Investigate over Allegations on Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) is scheduled to be announced today (26).

The verdict had originally been scheduled to be delivered on April 30, but Colombo High Court Judge Mohammad Mishaal had announced that the decision would be postponed until today.

The CIABOC filed these four cases against the former deputy minister, alleging that he caused a loss to the government in 2006 while serving as the Chairman of the National Lotteries Board, by obtaining vehicles on a rental basis.
