Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- The flood warning notice issued for the Kelani River basin was extended for the next 48 hours by the Department of Irrigation.

Accordingly, the Amber level warning notice number 02, issued today at 11.30 a.m., will remain valid until 11.30 a.m. on August 05.

The department requests the public living in low-lying areas related to the Kelani River basin to act with extreme care and vigilance regarding the prevailing situation.

The Department of Irrigation further informs drivers of vehicles travelling on roads passing through those areas, especially by-roads, to act with extreme caution and care.
