Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- Five railway stations in the Kalutara district have been chosen for a government decision to fully upgrade 100 stations across the country to international standards.

The selected stations are Panadura, Wadduwa, Kalutara South, Beruwala, and Aluthgama.

These stations will feature high-standard toilets and sanitary facilities, as well as digital signboards.

Given that all these stations are in tourist areas, Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Aviation Bimal Ratnayake has instructed local authorities to seek contributions from hotels and businesses in the area for the modernisation work.
