Fish prices rise in local markets
Sri Lanka, July 4 -- Market prices for fish show an increase.
Jayantha Cooray, Secretary of the Peliyagoda Central Fish Market Business Association, identifies the current rough sea conditions preventing fishers from heading out as the primary cause for the price hike.
Consequently, wholesale prices today (04) reached 1,000 rupees per kilogram for salaya, 1,200 rupees for linna, 1,600 rupees for kelawalla, and 3,000 rupees for thora.
