Sri Lanka, Aug. 24 -- A man (25) has died following a shooting in Malani Bulathsinhala Mawatha, Boralesgamuwa, police have confirmed.

The incident is believed to be the result of an ongoing conflict between two organised criminal gangs, according to Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Attorney-at-Law F.U. Wootler.

The deceased has been identified as a resident of the Aththidiya area.

Police investigations have revealed that the shooting occurred following a dispute at a musical event held in Boralesgamuwa.

The victim, who sustained gunshot injuries, was admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.
