Sri Lanka, Oct. 23 -- Kiribathgoda Police have arrested a 35-year-old man from Udahenthenna for defrauding a tricycle driver of Rs. 800,000, after posting fake online advertisements offering employment in Dubai.

Police said the suspect had the money deposited into his bank account and then disappeared, deleting the advertisement and cutting all contact with the victim. He was later lured to the police station through a planned operation and taken into custody.

The arrest was led by Inspector W. M. D. Thilakasiri of the General Complaints Investigation Unit, under the direction of Kiribathgoda OIC Chief Inspector K. O. P. Aberathna.
