Sri Lanka, Nov. 6 -- A notorious organized crime figure, Manoj Muthukumara, alias 'Kaiwaru Muthu', has been detained for 72 hours following his extradition from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

The suspect arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport earlier today, where he was immediately arrested by officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and subsequently handed over to the Western Province South Crimes Division for further investigation.

According to Sri Lanka Police, Muthukumara is a high-profile figure in organized crime who had been wanted in connection with numerous major offenses, including narcotics trafficking, murder, and extortion.
