Sri Lanka, April 20 -- Earnings from the expressway network surpassed Rs. 441 million throughout the New Year travel window spanning 10 to 18 April. Road Development Authority Director General Anuradha Hettiarachchi reported that 1,170,830 vehicles utilised the highway system during this timeframe.

Total Vehicles: 1,170,830

Total Revenue: Over Rs. 441 million

Active Routes: Southern, Colombo Outer Circular, Colombo-Katunayake, and Central expressways.

Officials observed a marked surge in traffic across the network during the holidays, which directly led to the increased revenue figures.
